New Head of Education at IASI

Jamie Kagan will end his tenure as Head of Education at IASI at the end of this season. The board would like to thank Jamie for his contributions over the years. Jamie he has helped shape the association to what it is today, and wish him luck in future projects.

The board has appointed Education Committee member Pete Gillespie as Head of Education, and he will start shadowing Jamie with immediate effect.
This appointment will ensure a smooth transition of tasks and protect business and operations continuity until the season closes. Pete will fully take up the reins by the end of April 2024.

Introducing Pete:

Pete has been involved in the education of Snowsport instructors for many years (BASI,
IASI, Snowsport England and Snowsport Scotland) and represented IASI (Ireland) at 3 World congresses in the past xx years. A truly committed snowsports professional he has over 33 years teaching and coaching experience and multiple qualifications
including:

  • Staatlich gerprufter Skilehrer DSLV (Deutsche Skilehrer Verband)
  • Staatlich gerprufter Skilehrer Snowsports Academy Austria
  • Registered European Professional Snowsports Instructor CTT (Alpine L4 IASI)
  • BASI L4 International Ski Teacher Diploma
  • ISIA International ski instructors association professional card
  • Telemark instructor
  • IVSI International ski instructors / Alpine Coach

Peter comments “I am looking to bring a fresh perspective on Education delivery within IASI”
Pete aims to bring together individual experts both from within the Association (and sometimes outside) to ensure that all aspects of education are delivered to an optimal level.
Anyone who has participated in one of Peter’s courses will already know how committed professional, open and approachable he is. We very much look forward to working with him.
