CTT (Common Technical Test)

CTT SAFETY TEST

The CTT Safety Test is a vital part of the snowsport instructor training and IASI offer two levels of training and certification in this area. The courses meet international requirements and the level 2 complies with the EU delegated act t 2019 Article 49b of Directive 2005/36/EC. They form part of the level 3 and level 4 ski instructor qualifications.

Below are links to each level of Mountain Safety training & certification; Level 1 Off Piste (OP) Security and the Level 2 Back Country (BC) Security. The overview of the complete Mountain Safety Pathway can be found by clicking here. We also run an optional 2-day Mountain Skills workshop focusing on navigation.

The Level 2 Back Country security is the highest award available in the mountain safety qualification pathway and is part of the Level 4 Ski Teacher award.

Holders of this award can work off piste out of the boundaries of the ski area except on glaciated terrain or where mountaineering techniques are required.
