Ski with IASI in Cervinia this October!

The first IASI Alpine Summit will take place at the end of October in Cervinia. This event combines educator selection and training with the opportunity for all IASI members to ski, train and socialise together. Come and join us for a cheeky early season ski, and get a head start for your season!

Outline Agenda

Fri 31st October – arrive, evening welcome drinks

Sat 1st November – daytime skiing with an educator, dinner together

Sun 2nd November – daytime skiing with an educator, head home

CPD

If any member needs to update their CPD, this is a great opportunity to do so before the start of the main winter season (cost is €11 per day). Please contact admin to request this.

We are also looking into running a First Aid refresher course, either on the Friday afternoon as an icebreaker or over the weekend. Please mention this in your email to admin if it would be of interest.

Travel

Nearest airports are Turin and Milan Malpensa.

Transfers are easiest by hire car, but also possible by train and bus (from Turin) or bus (from Milan). If you want to meet up with others to share a transfer, keep an eye on the IASI Facebook page where we will start a thread for this.

Accommodation options

  • We have secured a discount at the Hotel Mon Reve for this event.
    • Double Room €60 per person per night including breakfast. €90 per night single occupancy. On making enquiry mention IASI and the Warren Smith Ski Academy deal. It’s first come first served.
  • The La Cresta Chalet is also recommended, and almost next door to the Mon Reve. When booking, mention Angelo Vassena and IASI.
  • For apartment rentals, call Fulvio Sarterelli on ‪+39 39 385 383 80‬, and mention Angelo Vassena.

Ski Pass Discounts

Cervino Ski Paradise currently offer a 30% ski pass discount for holders of IASI L3 and 4 qualifications. There is no discount for L1 or L2. This may be updated between now and October – if it is we will let you know.

How to book

Make your own travel and accommodation arrangements, and email admin to let us know you’re coming. Simple as that!

IASI AGM, Ski and Social in Kilternan on 25th October

The IASI Annual General Meeting is confirmed for Saturday 25th October. We would like to encourage as many members as possible to attend in person. If you intend to join us, it would be helpful if you could email admin so we can get a sense of numbers.

As well as the AGM, we are also planning some social time and some training – which will hopefully involve testing out Kilternan’s new bumps run (check it out below!). Further details coming next month, but since it’s a bank holiday in Ireland that weekend, it would be worth booking flights and accommodation asap.

Course Calendar Now Updated

A comprehensive update to the course calendar is now live on the IASI website. All but two courses are now confirmed and ready for your bookings.

Conflict Of Interest FAQs

Thanks for all the input and questions after the publication of IASI’s COI policies last month. We have now published a series of FAQs to be read alongside the policy documents which we hope will clarify the main areas of uncertainty. This can be added to if other questions arise.

New Membership Year

A reminder from Sinéad, IASI’s Membership Administrator, that IASI membership cards will expire on 30th September. You may pay for the coming year’s membership from now, but new cards won’t be issued until September.

If your permanent postal address has recently changed, but especially if you require your licence card to be sent to an alternative address in resort, please email Sinéad directly to ensure your licence card is sent to the correct address.

If you need a new photo (recommended at least every 5 years), email a passport style headshot to Sinéad.

Please note that if your CPD (levels 1 – 4) and/or first aid (levels 3 & 4) falls due on or before 1st October 2025, new cards will not be issued until this has been completed. Updated first aid certs should be emailed to Sinéad. To minimise card waste, at the time you renew, Sinéad will contact you if your CPD/first aid due date is within the last quarter of 2025.

Have your say

The IASI board is doing some work on future strategy in advance of this year’s AGM. If you would like to be interviewed as an input to this, please contact Blue. We are looking for members across all disciplines and qualification levels.
