The first IASI Alpine Summit will take place at the end of October in Cervinia, Italy, against the stunning backdrop of the Matterhorn. This email contains all the information you need to sign up for an unforgettable weekend to kick-start your winter.
IASI is going through an exciting period of transformation, and while this is happening, we think it’s vital to strengthen our community and continue to build lasting connections between our members. What better way to do this than to go skiing together?
One of the benefits of our small size is that IASI has always been a welcoming, sociable, and above all a personal association. We want to do more for our members than just run courses and exams, we want our members to get to know us, and each other, and we want to hear more about what you want and need from IASI.
And… we just think it’ll be really good craic!
There are plenty of other ideas being discussed too, the above is just the start!
The event is open to all IASI members (any level), and their friends and family. It’s also open to anyone who might be interested in joining IASI – either at the start of their instructor career, or converting from another association, so please spread the word around. We pride ourselves on being open and welcoming to all.
The member part of the event runs from Friday 31st October to Sunday 2nd November. Feel free to arrive earlier or stay later if you like.
There is educator selection and training taking place earlier in the week too.
We are recommending the Petit Palais Hotel as our base for the event. It offers a brilliant location just by the main lifts, stunning views of the Matterhorn and reasonable rates. At the time of writing, they have 17 rooms available. When you book, please put ‘IASI’ in the notes section.
The La Cresta Chalet is also recommended. When booking, mention Angelo Vassena and IASI.
For apartment rentals, call Fulvio Sarterelli on +39 39 385 383 80, and mention Angelo Vassena.
Nearest airports are Turin and Milan Malpensa. DO NOT fly to Geneva – it’s normally possible, but the Mont Blanc tunnel will be shut that weekend.
Transfers are easiest by hire car, but also possible by train and bus (from Turin) or bus (from Milan). If you want to meet up with others to share a transfer, check out the IASI Facebook page where we have started a thread for this.
