IASI supports the recent joint statement from the UK snowsports bodies regarding PSIE and PSIC
IASI wishes to reaffirm its position regarding The Professional Ski Instructors of Europe (PSIE) and its parent organisation, PSIC (Professional Ski Instructors of Canada) for all our members.
PSIE is a private organisation with its own certification pathway, recognised only internally by PSIE and PSIC. It has no formal connection with IASI and is not part of the Irish Interski Team, for which IASI is the recognised national member.
UK snowsports governing and awarding bodies recently confirmed in a joint statement that they do not recognise PSIE qualifications in the UK. IASI shares the same position regarding recognition under our standards in Ireland.
What this means for members anywhere:
Only qualifications recognised internationally via ISIA or listed in the EU Delegated Act are accepted for professional equivalency with IASI.
PSIE qualifications, while educationally valuable, cannot be recognised for equivalency by IASI.
IASI supports members in pursuing legitimate, internationally recognised pathways.
IASI values the work of other organisations in snowsports education, but we prioritise credibility, integrity, and recognition of official pathways for all members worldwide.
